Austin live music calendar

With the South by Southwest interactive, juggernaut andmusic film around the corner one would think that the austin live music calendar would be relatively low. That would be a false assumption because the "live music Capital" does not rest even to take a deep breath before the madness that is SXSW. This weekend Austin will host a free street festival in the street 2nd District, an electro-pop band, the shears (see interview below) and legendary alternative rockers...

duct tape craft

My teens are obsessed with duct tape (or duck tape- depending on which ones you talk to). Any time we can get the money to have a duct tape crafts, I have more teens than I can handle... From the original gray to animal prints, skulls and neon, duct tape has expanded as it's popularity has skyrocketed

I have seen SO many cool pallet DIY projects on Pinterest, but then can’t find the source..or it is spam..or the tutorial is no where to be found. That’s why I decided to go through and find some of my favorite pallet projects I have seen floating around the web, including the tutorials to create these fabulous projects.

DIY Pinterest projects

For my Bucket List of 2014, I decided to do at least 5 diy pinterest projects. I decided to put that in my bucket list because I surfed through Pinterest several times before and Pinterest has many interesting images. There were many things that I not only wanted to make or eat, but go travel to just because I saw it on Pinterest. So, I made it a goal to get one of those things done.

Minion Costume

What???!?! Dude, I know you just said in the minion voice. I made this Homemade DIY minion costume for the Halloween party last year and according to me extremely bias, it's awesome. :) This photo was taken in the "line up" on my friend Christy's house. Apparently got this minion into some mischief. She is the same photographer who took all the incredible Christy flattering pictures of my family on my about me page. Yes, I normally play in a field wearing false eyelashes. Anywho ... Costume took about a week (mostly because of paper mâché dry time) and costs about $ 50 (less if you already own an exercise ball).

Leopard Eyes

The rain is pouring down here and it's a dull monday. So a pop of color is exactly what we need! :) The key to the leopard eyes look is to make not too many dots but not too few either. If you make too many it's going to look a bit messy but if you make too few it will look quite poor. What's too many or too few might be a question of taste though!

minion costume

I hacked this minion costume together last Friday during her nap barely in time for a party that afternoon. We got to the house and RJ had to help me force Ellie into the costume, all the while she was crying. I was laughing, and considering what a ridiculous mom I am shoving a toddler in a costume while she wails, and here's the picture we got.
